Fulkerson has that line in his 2004 CCCs piece about how Lad Tobin was trained by Don Murray et al. at UNH.
My book, Writing Relationships, was based on my UNH dissertation but I did the research on/at my teaching at Saint Anselm College. (Lad)
Along with Bruce’s book, Michelle Payne’s book, Bodily Discourses, Donna’s Qualley’s book, Turns of Thought, and my book, Tuned In, also came out of our dissertations with UNH students/pedagogy, done in the 90s.
And along with Performance of Self, Tom’s article “The First Five Minutes: Setting the Agenda in a Writing Conference” is UNH research (I just used it in my Writing Center course yesterday) as is his piece on “The Writing Conference as Perfomance”
Also Pat Sullivan’s pieces “Composing Culture: A Place for the Personal (College English) and “Passing: A Family Dissemblance” (in the collection Coming to Class) have parts that are about UNH students and classes.
All my books have been based on my UNH teaching, and I think they all mention Don in some fashion. My book First Time Up took its title (actually a drug reference) and its goals (prepare new comp teachers for their first class) from an in-house paper I wrote at Tom’s urging in the 1980s.
