A Preface on Rejection

In this brief Preface, which accompanies Murray's 1994 article "Pushing the Edge," Murray indicates this this piece, "Pushing the Edge," was, in fact, the article that was twice rejected, once for being too Murrayesque and once for being "quaint."

"Pushing the Edge" may have also been Murray's final mainstream comp/rhet journal article as 1994 appears to be the final year that he published in the field in any venue. You can see three publications for this year. I've found nothing following this year--nothing geared towards a comp/rhet audience.
